Artist Statement

The major investigation of my work is the idea of truth, both socially and objectively. I use social discourse, iconography and the concept of value to create experiences and/or critiques of social conditions. However, concluding the inquisition of

Truth is not the objective of my work.  The objective is to expose the connections between things that are seemingly different, almost as a way of discounting the notion of absolute truth as it pertains to the ideological.

I find that the lines between the transcendental and collective truths are often blurred.  People tend to interpret the ideological as the experiential.  In turn the experiential becomes perceived as the transcendental because everything we know occurs on a self-centric level, which gives us a God complex, though we’re constantly contending with something much larger than us – our creator, our mortality.
